Sports and Life
I have grown up loving sports. Most sports, meaning softball, baseball, volleyball, basketball and occasionally soccer (at least to watch-cause I would never play soccer if I had the opportunity). Then when Schuyler and I started dating I found myself in unfamiliar territory-football and NASCAR-. Now don’t get me wrong I have always enjoyed the superbowls and I went to high school football games with my friends but to be honest that was why I went was to be with my friends. I have never really understood the rules or the enjoyment of football but Schuyler loved it so I found myself sitting next to him and cheering whenever he cheered. He has managed after four years of being together to make me somewhat of a football fan now that I understand the sport a little better but I am sure that he gets tired of answering all my many questions regarding the sport. But I am proud to say that I now have a favorite football team, two actually, which neither one of them is Schuylers Broncos but I will gladly tell you that I cheer for the New England Patriots who I prefer to as the New England Clam Chowders, sorry if this offends any fellow New England fans out there but I even have there colors picked out -Red and White, there new mascot and there food to be served at there arena. And then lately I have found that I enjoy watching the Steelers play. This I cant really explain other than I truly like to watch Rothlisberger play! Now as for NASCAR… what can I say watching a bunch of cars drive in circles for hours on end is not my ideal plan of enjoyment… but I have brought on basketball into his life so like a good little fiancĂ©e’ I sit down next to him every Sunday during NASCAR season and cheer along with him for Jimmy Johnson. And to be honest I like to see Jimmy win but that is because it makes Schuyler happy. Now I am not the only one being brought into new worlds here. Schuyler went we met was not in any way a basketball fan, he thought they were cry babies and wusses because they cant take a hit. However, as he did with me and football (and attempts to do with NASCAR) I have coached him and now as I sit here typing this he is watching the Utah Jazz play the Phoenix Suns (GO JAZZ!!!!) and he even has his own email account set up with the Jazz. As for baseball we are both HUGE fans. The only problem is that we cheer for completely different teams, almost… I am and will be until the day they get rid of Chipper Jones an Atlanta Braves fan (and I have been even through the rotten years) Schuyler is an Angels fan. Now I do cheer for the Angels in the American league and I cheer for them as long as they aren’t playing the Braves cause then I have to be true to my Braves. Maybe sometime we will have to go watch a new sport like Rugby, I hear that is a blast to watch. Either way! Lets Get Ready to Rumble, Play Ball, or Gentlemen Start Your Engines! Whichever strikes your fancy.
